First and foremost, 2-hour lessons allow for more in-depth and comprehensive instruction. In a shorter lesson, there may not be enough time to cover all of the necessary material and concepts, leading to a less effective learning experience.
On average, a lot of people spend around 40 to 45 hours in their driving lessons before they're ready to take their test. This is the ideal amount of time in order for you to learn everything there is to know about being on the roads, as well as build up the confidence in carrying out manoeuvres.
Dealing with tailgaters on UK roads can be stressful, but it's important to stay calm and handle the situation safely. Avoid reacting aggressively or with anger, and focus on maintaining a steady speed within the legal limit. Refrain from braking suddenly, as this can escalate the situation and increase the risk of a collision. If possible, safely change lanes to allow the tailgater to pass, or find a suitable location to pull over and let them go if they continue to be aggressive. Avoid making eye contact with the tailgater, as this may further escalate the situation. If their behaviour is dangerous, consider reporting it to the police with details such as the vehicle's registration number, make, and model. On multi-lane roads, stick to the left lane if you are driving at the speed limit to allow faster-moving vehicles to pass more easily. Finally, ensure you maintain a safe following distance from the vehicle in front of you, allowing you to react to sudden changes in traffic without having to brake abruptly.
